Blown Calls, Instant Replay, and March Madness

Posted on: March 8, 2008 9:36 pm

March Madness is really starting to kick in here across the country, every team in the nation thinking they have a shot at the big dance.  Every team making their case.  Watched some good games recently including the hot topic of UCLA-Stanford during the week. This game was very exciting from beginning to end, I felt like Stanford was the better team for the majority of the game, that is until there was 4 minutes left and UCLA decided that they wanted to start playing some hoops.  The reason this game has been so controversial is because of a call made by a referee with time winding down. The game went to overtime, and UCLA outplayed Stanford the last 5 minutes.

I am so sick of people blaming the referees for Stanford losing.  Stanford lost, there is nothing you can do about it. GET OVER IT!!!  Lets talk about the turnovers, missed free throws, and the fact that you blew a 12 point lead with 4 minutes left to play. Nobody wants to talk about that. Lets talk about how the game was 0-0 with 5 minutes to play, and you got your tails whipped in overtime.  So what does Stanford do on Saturday? They are out to prove a point to the nation right? That they are the best team in the Pac-10, they are going to whip USC up and down the court? No, they going and get their tails whipped by the Trojans.  USC brought the magnum (condom joke), with them for this one, and made their case for why they belong as well.

Fans making  a case for instant replay in college basketball? Go run a fantasy league please.  Thats all I have to say about that.

RIP Eve Carson (North Carolina Student Body President)

This is a message to the guy who thinks he is cool for stealing this girls Debit card, you are a sicko, this girl had her whole life ahead of her, a bright future, and because you are some junkie who needed 20 bucks, you shot this girl and left her in the middle of the road. You will get whats coming to you.

Blown Calls, Instant Replay, and March Madness

Referees are blames too much for the lack of execution and just poor play.  Great comment on Eve Carson.
